Do you wear soccer cleats for girls lacrosse?

Starting girls lacrosse..what do i do?

  Make sure you're practicing, so you don't go in not knowing a thing. It'll be a lot easier for you at practices if you already have some background! Find a friend to pass with, or just pass with yourself using a wall or a rebounder. As for what to wear, basically the same thing as any other sport. Most people just wear shorts and a t-shirt, whatever you're comfortable in. Comfort is important as you'll be doing a lot of running. As for uniforms, some teams use skirts, some don't. Usually you wear spandex under the skirt. Most of the girls on my team wear calf socks, as not wearing tall enough socks tends to make you get blisters on the back of your ankle. It isn't fun. Main things to know are how to catch, throw, scoop, and cradle. Knowing the the markings on the field and what you can and can't do will also help. Like long distance running, and a lot of it? Midfield. Short sprints and feel comfortable engaging offensive players in contact? Try defense. Good at communicating, great reflexes, and don't like too much running? Goalie. And if you play goalie, and are good at it, people will love you. Because not having a goalie sucks. (My indoor team is currently in this position. We have to rotate goalies so everyone has a turn.) Note: basically everyone wants to shoot. And when you have a team that consists of girls who are unwilling to play as a team, because they are so focused on scoring goals, it really hurts the team. Try to remember that what's important is the team's total goals. And if that requires you to pass the ball to a teammate to score a goal, that's what you should do.
