Why are scooters banned at some skate parks?

• A long wile ago I was with my buddy at the skate park. I had a scooter and he was on a skateboard. A patrolling cop called flagged me over so I rolled on down to his squad car to see what was up. He then explained to me that scooters were technically not allowed in the skate park for being too dangerous and also only having two wheels. Back then I didn't really think anything of it because rules are rules. But now I want to know why only the scooters were too dangerous. I have no idea what only having two wheels would do for safety but the fact that scooters can "kick" 360 degrees should not be a factor. Skateboards are just as dangerous, such as the time I almost got my teeth knocked it from one and I've also seen those things go flying around when someone falls.
