Get over fear of tumbling?

How do I get over my fear of runing tumbling?

  • This has been going on for a while now and I am starting to get extremely frustrated to the point where I want to cry after cheerleading every practice. I had my round off tuck and freaked out in the air and haven't been able to do it since. (This happened about 3 months ago.) I know I can do it, coaches say i can do it, i know i can. I can do it on tumble track I do it prefect with a spot they tell me to do it by myself then i start getting nervous. Can someone please help me.

    I know exactly how you feel. I been through that. 1. try tumbling into a foam pit with a coach and without a coach that way if you freak during your tuck, you cant hurt yourself. 2. have the coach spot less and less each time to the point where their just standing there and then have them move farther and farther away from you till your doing it by yourself 3. just do it. the best advice i've gotten. you have to scare yourself a little after you do one, it'll be easy. your body knows how to do it and it wont let you fail. its like if you trid to dive head first into the floor your body wouldnt let you. it would put your arms down. same with tumbling. your body wont let you hurt yourself. oh and dont think about it... just calm down:) good luck!

I just got my backhand spring like yesterday and my tumbling coach just kept spotting me less every time,I summed up the confidence to finally do it.I thought that he was still spotting me and he wasn't,so I just pretend that my spot has his arm out.
