What size deck should I get?

What size deck for a skateboard?

• Hi i need a new deck and i have no clue what size to get. I wont be riding in the pools, all ill be doing is riding on the street, and doing tricks, like kickflip,heelflips,ollies,grinding and all that. I dont want a big size like an 8.0 becuase i hear that 8.0 above are good with pools and i hear that they are hard to do tricks with. I was thinking about getting a 7.8 would that be good for doing tricks and just skating, do you think the tricks would be easier if i had a 7.8 or should i go lower? Help please! oh im size 8 womens

  Great! Street is way better & more fun than pool's..etc you are kinda right about the 8" skate deck... I personally cannot skate those wide boards.. There to fat for me...They are harder to flip &pop high with... The only positive is that they give you more footing to land tricks because of wideness. 7.8" skate decks are cool...but thats real close to an 8" for me... Still though its still better than a 8" or anything wider thats for sure.... I personally skated 7.5" skate decks for many many years... I like those boards ... They are narrow ,but man you get full control over it & allows you to pop your tricks higher.. You get the best flips with these boards.. They easier to flip.... The only thing is you got less footing to land tricks & they are a little easier to snap... Not in every case though. Right now though im skating 7.75" these decks are great.. I like them they are not to narrow & not to wide.. This is the board right before the 1 you want to get 7.8" in size.. Its just one size smaller... These boards give you the same qualities as a 7.5" ... Its not much of a difference but there is some... I don't know for me its the perfect size.. I cannot seem to skate any thing bigger than 7.75".. So i say just go for the 7.8" .its a good board.. If not though give the 7.75" a try , its just 1 size smaller than the 7.8" ..... Your choice up to you ,both are great street type skateboards.
