How do I get my toe touch higher?

  • Okay so I was practing my toe touches and I do cheerleading and i was just starting and I've been practicing them for a whole year and a half. But everytime I jump my left leg is higher then my right...I try to use power when i bend but i just get lower and my legs are uneven..HELP!

    Here is a stretch to help your toe touches. You sit on the ground with your legs in a straddle. Then you place your hands in frount of you. Lift one leg and rotate it in small circles. Then do the other. Then do both at the same time. If it feels like your leg is coming out of socket, your doing it right. haha Also, if you know how to do double toe touches, practice them! It will get your regular one higher. My friend and I used to see how many toe touches we could do without stopping witch is another great practice. Remember, technique is the main thing to get your toe touch high. A strong prep will give you the power to jump higher and that stretch with help you rotate those legs. Soon, it will become natural=] p.s. the one leg higher than the other will eventually go away. Focus on pointing your toes and that just might be the trick. its hard to know for someone else.
