How do you know what size snowboard is right for you?

What snowboard size is right?

  • This is a question for people who know some info about snowboarding. So I am deciding to try snowboarding for the first time and I was wondering how to decide what size of a board is right for me. So, I know that the size has a few factors of determination and here's my info: I'm a beginner, I am 5'6" and weigh about 130 lbs. I wear a shoe size of 81/2 to 9 (depending on the brand of shoe) So my questions are: a) Are there any other factors I'm missing? b) what size would you suggest is right for me? c) Is a 150-154 cm board too big or is it ok? Any suggestions or advice will be much appreciated! Thank you!

  • Answer:

One additional factor is what style of snowboarding you are going to be doing? Mountain, freestyle, etc. You are going to be a 140-146 cm length board with a waist (board waist) of 234-240mm if you're doing all mountain. The following website will be helpful in making your decision. As far as shoe size goes, you will have to try on the boots for sure to get the perfect fit.
