How to practice an ollie on a skateboard?

  • Im trying to practice an ollie with a skateboard. I know all the moves and stuff i want to know how to practice like how much time to practice, good spots to practice, best foot placement, practice in grass or ground. Please be detailed im new to this.

the best way i learnt (back in the day) was getting to know if you are regular or goofy, then push off at a slow speed (easier to do it while traveling in my opinion) Go to somewhere where it is all flat, just ride around get a good feel for your board, and after you have done that go slowly.. you will want to be facing sideways on your board, you'll find that one foot is nearly to the back of your board, place that foot on the edge (your toes on the very edge, but a firm grip) and the other foot around half way of your board (again only your toes on the board for more control) You basically want to crouch down and jump while firmly pushing your foot which toe's are on the edge down very briefly and then release ( pop ) then push your other foot out to level the pop and by it self, your feet will have leveled with the board and you should land flat and safely.. It's really hard to explain on writing, but my advise is to really push your pop and don't be a sissy about it.. :)

i woul try and learn on flat concrete first and if you are struggling to keep your fet or one of your feet on the board when you land then try in on flat grass. in terms of how to start you will want to start on a still ollie (not moving) and when you are ready progress onto moving ones. for foot placement there isnt really one, its is what feel best and right for you. if you have no idea then look on youtube there are some great tutorials where i leant to do it. for time to practice it is however much you want too, but not so little you lose interest but not too much that you smash the board in frustration :D. i hope this helped

get some worthless bearings. free is best. take the shild off and put a couple drops of super or krazy glue in each bearing, spin till they freeze up, after one day of drying, put bearings in the wheels of your choice. and you got the perfect practice board.
