Would this be a good longboard to start out with?

What kind (size/shape/type) of longboard should I purchase if I want to start sliding?

  • I started riding a few months ago and I love bombing hills, but I really want to start learning how to slide. The board that I'm currently riding is http://dregsskateboards.com/i-4932221-36-classic-koi-fish-pin.html So I was wondering what do I need ideally to start sliding? What kind (size/shape/type) of longboard do I need? Do I need anything else? Thanks in advance

  • Answer:

don't buy a new board just to slide. you can slide ANY wheels on ANY board. once you learn how to slide on your board, I recommend an earthwing board. just remember though, just because you get a certain kind of deck with hard wheels, you are not going to slide automatically. just slide your sector9 pintail with 78a wheels, and move on from there. oh yeah, you NEED a helmet, and should probably make slide gloves
