Which skateboard should I buy?

  • I'm thinking about picking up skateboarding but I'm not too sure which skateboard I want to buy. Can someone tell me some good brands to buy? I don't want to spend over $170 and I don't want a beginner board because I heard they break really quickly. Any tips?

    No such thing as a beginner board. There is pro quality and junk. Go find something that feels good and looks good. Go too narrow and you'll feel awkward. Too wide and it will feel like a tank. If you have smaller feet i'd go 7.75, bigger feet about 8. Trucks are all about turning. Do you want to turn on a dime or have a tight truck? Tight - venture, medium - thunder, loose - indy/krux. wheels... you can't lose. if you have a flat smooth area to skate 50-52. If its rockier - 53-54. Bigger/smaller than that and you'll go too slow (small) or it will be too heavy (big). Bearings is where I'd spend money. Get bones swiss. Its worth the $$. BTW my current set up. 5boro 8.1", thunder trucks, bones swiss, spitfire 53mm.
