How Can I Become Flexible ? Any Ideas on how to get more Flexible ?!?

its not fair all my friends can touch there toes and stuff and i can only just get to my knees ! its So embarrassing in gym when ever ones like really flexible and then there's my long legs and short arms ! is there any way i can become more flexible , i have tried some exercises but i don't no many? any ideas ?

Ahhh! I just totally wrote the same thing question just a minute ago! I am sooo bad at flexibility and I really want to join a gym or something. I can't touch my toes to save my life I am like a freaking T-rex!! Try joining a gym as well, or buy a yoga mat which comes with a free DVD or something (argos). Or stretch every morning and night- this helps to strengthen and lengthen your muscles and also try yoga/ gymnastic exercises. There are some really good stretches demonstrated by professionals on youtube. www.youtube.com just type in 'How to become more flexible' I did it and I have to admit it was quite good. Buy a wii fit (I know they are v expensive I am still begging mum) but have great results. Loads of exercises, yoga and aerobics and stuff. Okay hoped this helped, anyway just tell your friends there the ones who are freakish, Long arms and short legs thats what I say!

Okay well im a middle school cheerleader and to do cheer you need to be flexible right? Well my coach and fellow cheerleaders have some easy faster ways to become more flexible. It will take still take time and NEED TO BE DONE DAILY! So what you need to do is take a bath in VERY warm water not hot or cold...WARM! then stay in for about and 30 to an hour and stretch while in the tub. This is bc you muscles and bones are no longer tense and they become relaxed. Then when you get out stretch for about 20 minutes then go to sleep. It has worked for me amazingly well and all my friends. i can do the splits and toe touches almost in about a week and a half. I hope this helps you as much as me! That is one way i do it another is just try yoga!

basicly stretch everyday for example if you want to touch your toes attempt this every day and you will get closer and closer although it is worrying that you can only get to your knees :s

Stretch a lot. If you weren't born like that you can become more flexible. Say if you wanted to do the splits, go as far as you can doing the splits and stay like that for about 10-15 minutes and everyday you'll be able to go down further.
I've been in track and other sports for years and the more in shape I get the more flexible I become. I'd recommend stretching everyday and doing running, jogging, or biking. Just find a way to exercise your body for at least 15 minutes a day. Starting is always rough, but it's worth it after a week and a half! Good Luck

try stretching a lot, that's what i do every day so i can do back bend and touch my toes. good luck trying my idea, but you need to do this every day in order for it to work.

when you try to touch the ground grab your legs (usually behind the furthest you can reach) and pull your body into your legs. also stretch everyday.

You just have to excercise and stretch a lot. You cant just get flexible automaticly. Yoga might help. how old are you? gymnastics is good, and fun.

I am very tall and flexible and i do cheer and tumbling. So they make us stretch every day and if you do that each day it should get easier. Just do like you do in P.E..
