How do I learn to play softball?

How do you play softball?

• I'm going to join my school softball team next year, but i have no idea how to play. The coach told me i'll have the fall to learn,but i wanna practice this summer too....any help?

  yay! story time lol but ok when your at bat you stand in the batters box and you watch the ball the whole time when you bat, you keep your elbow up and if its below your knees or above your chest dont swing cause then its a ball. when the ball is pitched between your chest and knees its a strike. if you get three strikes your out. if you hit a foul, which is when you hit the balll but it goes behind the white line, its counted as a strike, unless you have 2 strikes, then it doesn't count as anything. if you get 4 balls you walk, which means you just go to first. if you play infeild and a ball is hit to you on the ground then you throw it where theres a force, or when a player is forced to run. when you go to catch the ball you put your glove to the ground and catch it and throw it to first base. if its a pop fly you get under the ball and catch it. if you play second base or short stop you are the cuttoff, that means when a ball is hit into the outfeild you run out there to help them get the throw in by lining yourself up between 1st base and the outfeilder so the throw is easier. if you play outfeild and you dont know exactly where the ball is its always better to run farther back then forwards and always keeping your body sideways, use both hands when you catch the ball. when stealing a base or on base,you always have to wait till the ball crosses the plate. if the ball is foul you can't steal. if someone hits the ball and its a pop fly and they catch it, you either stay on teh base or you come off the base, tag up (which means touch the base) and then you can run to the next base. thats all i can think of for right now, i suggest you go to a softball camp
