Help me choose a longboard!?

Longboard experts? help me choose?

  • Help me find a good board! I've rode a loaded dervish before and it was amazing because it felt just like snowboarding, but I can certainly offer more detail than that - something around the $150_$200 range - maybe a reputable brand - something versatile. Mostly medium flex because I'll be using it just for cruising and long commutes, some downhill here and there. - someone mentioned that the mini Shaka by sector 9 was a good fit but I'm not sure if 40 inches is too long or short. Mainly just for commuting and cruising around. A fun flexy board!

  • Answer:

hey! thats a great question and there are soo many different boards and in the end it will be up to what appeals best to you. however i can offer some great choices. arbor for example has wonderful boards to cruise on, because they are a company that is made to make mostly cruisers and carvers. so most any arbor board would be a great choice.for cruising and carving i suggest a pintail shape, a 40 inch is not too long! its a bit long comepared to some boards (boards average around like.. 38? 37? but it depends on what you want to do, for example, downhill boards are around 38-43 inches, dancer boards are like.. up to 60 inches, (loaded dancer) and you have your shortboards and all the other stuff) if you want to downhill 40 inches is great but i dont suggest you go to fast downhill with a board that is mostly for cuising, or a flexy board at that, because it is much easier to get speed wobbles withot a very stiff board. sector 9 and original are also awsome companies for cruising and carving boards and you should really look into them. have fun! hopethis helped!

My friend has a sector 9 they're really awesome! They're really good for gliding and cruising, not very good for doing tricks though. It is a very popular skateboard amongst girls though. Don't get one too big, many 20-45 inches. x
