Why is there a ball next to a contact name?

Why dont you Brits change the term football to soccer. Instead of FA, change to SA. We dont have another name?

We calls it football, but football is called soccer in some parts of world. in South America Furthermore, our sport is superior because its a contact sport where our guys get injured. Soccer players never get injured because they dont touch each other they just kick the ball to each other. I aint makin fu of your sport but I just think to avoid confusion you should officially change name to SOCCER
