What are some good at-home volleyball drills I can do with myself?
-
I made the volleyball team, but yet I feel like I never really get to practice my skills at home even though we have a volleyball net up and I have a volleyball. I realized that I don't really know any good volleyball drills that will help me suceed in game like situations, so I am seeking some advice. Thanks!

Answer:
If you are a hitter hit against wall making sure your arm swing is correct, setter just set against the wall and for ds or libero pass against the wall. If you have someone who can play pepper with them.

One of my favorite drills is knee-drives. Grab your knee pads and have someone stand a few yards in front of you and throw the ball at you with some force to either side of you. Get into your "hitting position" and when you hit the ball take a step with your out-side leg and drive the other knee in to the ground as hard as you can. VERY HELPFUL!!!!!!!!!!

Just like what the last person said, you should practice against a wall for better control when passing, setting, or hitting. Since you have a net, you should take advantage of it. You could try passing the ball over the net and running under to passing it back; you can also try this by setting instead of passing. If you want to practice hitting, maybe ask someone to play setter for you, and if they can't set, just ask them to toss the ball at a good height for you so you could hit it over. You can also try peppering by yourself; my friend always does that. Also, maybe you could try hitting the ball against the net. Compared to a wall when hitting, if you use a net, it won't jump at you with a fast WOOOSH; it would be gentle and fall down to the ground, unless hit hard enough to slowly fling back at you. These are all of the techniques I could think of. Hope this helps(:

if you set, yeah just set against the wall but every once in a while have someone over and have them throw the ball and try and run and set it practice setting backwards and forwards. Practice getting out of the way so someone can bump or spike it. practice serving over hand and under hand. do air bumps. Just bumping it up in the air. Then try floor bumps. Bumping the ball up and touching the ground over and over it really works out ur leg muscles see how many you can do.
for hitting: try hitting against the wall, but with a basketball. it might sound painful, and it might be at first, but ull have a way harder hit when its time for volleyball. also, remember to snap ur wrist when hitting. its the key to hitting downwards. for passing: try using ur hands the most. like before, use a basketball against the wall. bumps a good, but passes with ur hands are much more accurate.
