Where To Play Happy Wheels At School?

Where can i play volleyball outside of school that doesnt cost alot & is intense enough?

  • I live in Ft.Worth Texas and i played volleyball for about 6 years but i quit during my freshman year of high school. I'm now a senior and want to play again 'cause i need more activity, but the trouble is I can't play at my school. I want to play in a select team/league because of the intensiveness and competitiveness, but I'm not sure of the cost. And i know there's always the YMCA, but I'm not sure that it would be intense enough. Part of the reason I want to play again is to get back into shape and I know myself and I'm only going to be able to do that if i play volleyball again. I need information on clubs and things like that that wont make me rob a bank. thanks for readin' <3

A club team would be your best bet, but as you said some can be very expensive. But do some research and look into it. Some clubs can cost in the 5000+ range but these are high performance travel teams where most of that money is going towards travel and tournament fees (and players who play for these types of teams are usually rewarded with college scholarships). However, not all club teams are this expensive, local and area leagues provide serious volleyball without the commitment and price tag of power and travel clubs. These types of teams also do not always have websites or are well advertised so ask or call around to get some recommendations ( tryouts will likely be in mid-late fall). With any club team however you will likely be paying around $1000 and up. I know it sounds like a lot but really you are getting 6 or 7 months of coaching, gym rentals, travel, tournaments and full uniforms, so it's really not a bad deal and some even give out scholarships for players with financial need. However if this is still more than you want to spend, look into adult leagues through the local parks and rec department, community centers or churches. Community college might also be a good place to look. Check your local CC's PE department they might be offering a volleyball class or league and will for sure cost less then $100 for the semester

You can always go to camps at colleges or local day camps. They are very intense but a lot of fun to.

Maybe open up a little team of your own, and put out fliers, but you have to like have them try-out or something, to test if they're intense enough. Possibly look around for a team join able or look online.
