What position does ronaldinho play?

Is the weak side hitter position a good position to play in volleyball?

  • I'm most likely going to be playing the weak side hitter position on my school's volleyball team, so I just want to know is that a good position to play? And since I'll probably be playing that position are there any tips you could give me? Any conditioning routines I should practice? Thank you :)

  • Answer:

Playing oppo is a great position. You are one of theist active players on the court! You get to pass, hit, and set! Always remember you have second ball if the setter takes the first one! Digging is a bit tough because you angle will tougher, but it's so much fun to dig line! Like everyone else said, get ready to block! Transition from blocking to your approach is important. If you are right handed, don't start your approach outside the court like annoutside hitter, in stea your approach should be a straight line going to the "5" spot and using your shoulders and trunk while in the air to hit angle. Lastly, have fun. Fun is the key to any position n

any position on the court is very important. i don't know what your definition of a "good position" is. with weak side, you'll be doing alot of blocking from the other teams power hitter, you'll need a good vertical. work out your legs. lots of squats, lunges, stairs, ect. another piece of advice from playing that position, is when the ball is going to your setter BE IN POSITION. if you don't come of the net and out of the court you will have a shortened approach straight on to the net (of you hit left you have more options but if your a righty, you wanna come in on an angle so it doesn't go out)

you're just going to be doing the same drills as an outside, except behind the setter. if you are a lefty, this will be a lot better for you. try working on swinging across your body and hitting line, because in school ball that will probably be open. if you are a righty, then try turning your body and swinging down line. you will most likely be up against the opposing team's best hitter, because it is usually an outside. so practice that blocking! try doing squat jumps and jumping against a wall. that always helps. make sure you block the ball back to the middle of the court so you don't get tooled. good luck.

why are you calling it weak side wtf?! the setter would never set them then! gahh its a great position to play, really important. You have to be able to block really well and set in case the setter gets the first ball.

yes. its a good position. but you better be able to block good and when the ball gets set to you be ready to spike it at an angle.
