History of the Jamaican Volleyball?

Is Penn State women's volleyball team the best ever in NCAA history? I see they had a perfect record of 39-0?

  • And they lost only two sets the whole year, has any other team done this in NCAA history. Remember I'm not talking about being unbeaten, I'm talking about sets per season.

    I think that if that match had been played anywhere except the arena in Omaha that Penn State would not have dropped a set all season. As it was, the 16,000+ Nebraska fans made a lot of noise and helped their team a great deal. But anyway. Is this the best women's volleyball team ever? They're definitely the best team in 2008. It's hard to compare teams from one era to another. I know the NCAA loves taking the volleyball championships to Omaha because they sell out a huge arena, but I think it's not fair to the non-Nebraska teams at the tournament. I've attended 8 Final Fours now and find the crowds a lot more balanced at other locations. After shivering through 5 days in Omaha, I have to say I'm looking forward to going to Tampa next year! They haven't announced where the championship will be held in 2010, so a lot of us are afraid it's going back to Omaha. Argh.

You would certainly have the stats to back up your idea that they are the best in history. 108-2 in sets for the season against a strong schedule. 60+matches in a row starting last season 6 All Americans on the court at a time.

Yea, I love the penn state vb team....I was mad when they lost their first and second set ever. But Nebraska was an Awesome team. All in all..I'm very happy they won the championship....it wouldve ben just as nice if the University of Illinois team won(i'm frm Illinois) but its ok!! lol

Doing what they did, and being the best team are two different questions... I don't think any other team ever did the same (could be wrong). But what I do know is that are probably the best team in NCAA history.
