How do i improve my reaction time in volleyball?

  • i always reacted very slowly when receiving the ball.. i always reacted slowly when they spike a free ball.. please help me!

    Ok i have been playing for 6 years. Always keep low and have your arms ready if the ball is near the floor, run and dive for it. Make sure you call MINE! that way everyone knows you have it. Be confident and don't be scared. Its just a ball

Practice! Have a friend toss some balls over the net to you. The best way is to have them throw as many as possible, yet still give enough tim for you to only have to concentrate on one ball at a time! This trick always worked for me!

If you love to receive small passes then you should get the small once and if you love to smash far from net then you should get long and high passes i think there is a fault in your coaching technique every player is not perfect in every thing volleyball is the combination of 6 different people every one specialize in their own style then be yourself don't copy someone else.

I have the perfect solution. We did it as a drill in volleyball. Set up sheets over the volleyball net so that you can't see the other side. Now, you don't know where the ball is going to come, do you? You won't see it coming so it'll help your reaction time:) Worked for me!
