Who is Geelongs captain now?

I've played all 4 Years of volleyball at my High School, but now i'm being referred to as co captain?

• So... I'm a Senior at my school an I've played volleyball all four years. My freshman year I even got the honor of getting to play in a few varsity games. Since I've started playing volleyball I've really put my all into it because It's not just a physical game, it's also mental and it's taken a while to get all of that down. I go to a small high school and there are only about 12 girls on my team. I'm a good player, I can serve pretty accurately, setting is my thing, and I've become quite good at that, and I can also bump/dig it up, and spike fairly well. This year we get a new coach, she's about 24ish. She knows nothing about the team really, and has practice all summer, which I have attended all but 4 because I went on vacation right before school started, but I informed her of this from the very beginning of the summer. So while I'm gone she picks captains, only she only picked one captain, and it was a girl I am friends with, don't get me wrong here, but she has only played 2 years prior to this and this is her 3rd. The past 2 years she has been on the Junior Varsity Team and kind of just stands there to take up space and hopes to not have the ball come towards her. Although, I will say she has improved since she first started, she still has no idea what exactly she is doing out there. I see it as a problem because I think Captains should know not only what they are doing but what the whole team should be doing. That's where the mental part of the game comes in. So I had a talk via text with the coach about it and said I was hurt that she waited until I was not around for her to pick captains and that I think I deserve a spot as the other captain. Now she is referring to me as Co Captain , or looking at the other girl and saying " your co captain" like I'm owned by her or i'm her little assistant. It's my senior year and I won't get another chance. I'm thinking about having a one on one talk with the coach about this.... any advice, or view points? Thank you

  You can just talk to her one on one about the stuff you told us right here. That you feel like and assistant instead of a captain. Say it is your senior year and you would like to be treated as a captain not an assistant to a girl that has not even played as long as you has and knows less then you do. She will probably make you a captain not an assistant anymore. Good Luck!!
