Will P90X Plyometrics help increase vertical jump?

  • I just started doing the p90x plyometric workouts, and I was wondering if it will help increase my vertical jump. I play volleyball, and i have a decent vertical, but i still want to improve it. I'm not trying to increase my jump by 8 inches in like 3 weeks or anything. But if i keep sticking to it and if i keep doing the plyo workouts, will my vertical increase in the long run? If not, what are some specific exercises to get my vertcial up? (and plz dont just say explosive jump training or anythinig like tht) thx. I AM NOT DOING P90X TO COMPLETY LOSE WEIGHT, BUILD MUSCLE, AND GET A GOOD BODY. IM ONLY USING P90X PLYOMETRICS TO HELP INCREASE MY VERTICAL. i do plyo twice a week and upper body weightlifting the othere times of the week.

    yes plyo builds up your vertical jump. i also do plyo twice a week and have been doing it for about 3 months. My vertical jump has increased about four or five inches, and i can touch rim and im only 5'10, so keep working on plyo because it pays off!
