How do you improve your vertical jump?

I play volleyball and really want to improve the height of my vertical jump. How do I do that in a short period of time?

steps: left, right, left, then jump with your two feet. usually. your vertical jump is all about hip. because when you your squatting, ready to jump up. your hips do all the work so you can jump higher. in other words. you pop your hips up so you can jump up higher. so work out on hips. butt muscles. thights. calves. and core. both your sides and front. i really hope i helped.

I recommended suicides and pylometrics. Also work with your core. This will create explosiveness and make you more able to get to balls and jump higher. When you get a little stronger start making with short less time to rest also creating resistance and durability to that explosiveness. With this combination you will be a threat physically in the court. Also make abs to produce more flexibility on your torso while you are hitting. hope to have help you and merry christmas.

you can try doing step ups that helped me with my muscles in my legs because it gives you more power and makes you jump higher and improve your reflexes

Exercise during normal activities. You don't have to make a big deal of it. Walk on tip toes sometimes, it helps increase vert. And of course, exercises to improve jumping. Mini hops... Jump a little off the ground, over and over without hopping. Jump rope is great for this. Squats, calf raises, stand in 1 spot on tip toes for 2 minutes, start stretching. Load your body with some weight before jumping, like jumping with a medicine ball. Ankle hops will also help...

ummm a lot of ways you can do step ups on to a high box and then jump up and down from it quickly. or when i trained my coach made us run in the sand and do plyos in the sand or approaches in the sand ....and like everyday for a week will even improve your jump indoors....trust me we did it everyday and when we practiced in doors everything was a lot easier

being 5"6 and a middle blocker (don't ask how that happened) but if you wear weights around your WAIST NOT ANKLES you can improve your jump. Also try bicyclee riding it's a great way to build leg muscules!

Try Tuck Jumps!! Start by standing straight up, then squat down to the ground and explode up with all your power and do as many reps as you can everyday!!

build up the muscles in your quads they are the muscles that help you jump also test your Vertical and then after like two weeks of training test it again and see the difference
