Volleyball serving... Keeping your core tight and tips?

  • My volleyball instructor always says keep your for or abs tight or tighten your abs but I don't know how to do that. She also says that you can't get the ball over the net without doing this, so how exactly do you flex or tighten your core.. Also any serving tips?

    Do you know how to do a sit-up? It's the same sort of thing but not so pronounced. As you're swinging to hit the ball just squeeze your tummy muscles to tighten them. It might help if you blow hard out of your mouth at the same time as that can help to tighten those muscles.
