What competition swimsuit should I get?

Swimsuit size for Competition?

  • i'm on a competitive swim team and i ordered a practice swimsuit online. I ordered a size 38 and when i tried it on, it was just a tiny bit big, just a little. I am just worried that if I buy the size smaller, a 36, i would look fat because the swimsuit would pinch at me a little make my fat hang out of my swimsuit. So, my question is... should i stick with the size 28 even though it is a tinny bit big, OR should i return the size 28 and buy the size smaller, a 36 but it would not look at slimming as the 38? thank you so much! btw: i'm a size 14 in woman's clothing

  • Answer:

I think the 36 would be a better choice because suits tend to stretch out. At meets, it's more important to swim fast than to look good, in my opinion

If you're really competitive and have a chance of winning at a big meet, i would definitely say go for the 36 so you can go as fast as possible. If you arent super competitive though, i would say go for the 38 and be comfortable and have fun!

If its a practice suit, stick with the larger size. Big suits create drag. So when you get a smaller competative suit on, there will less drag and dropped time.

Well you need to ask yourself if it being a bit too loose will inhibit you from competing properly. If not, stick with the suit that looks better :)
