  • Answer:

everybody is a different level in swimming, i know sometimes it might be embarrassing but know there are people out there who cant swim at all & who are worse!!:) youre not the only one & its totally okay not to be a pro swimmer. as for your carnival, dont freak out because youre only swimming one 25 which is totally fine! when you dive in, kick butterfly and make your arms into a tight streamline to glide underwater as far as you can. as soon as you break the surface, keep your head down & as stationary as possible the whole time. try not to breathe very much - remember air only reaches your muscles 30 seconds after you breathe it in, & youre not going to be swimming for longer than 30 seconds so all the air you breathe during the race wont even reach your muscles until after youre done!! :) keep your head down & never stop moving your arms. try to take long strokes -that way you get further without being as tired. kick as HARD as you can & dont stop!! it wont take you longer than 30 seconds, probably about half that. dont freak out, just have confidence & swim your hardest!! dont take peoples crap if they ridicule you or blame you for losing. have confidence in yourself & do the best you can. if they give you a hard time, just say you did your best & youre sorry to let them down. act as mature as possible & dont let them get to you!! theyll respect you more for that. on another note, you should look into taking swim lessons or getting on a swim team because once youre into it & youve learned the basic strokes, it is one of the most beneficial sports & also the MOST FUN:) it can be a blast if you join a team. good luck!!!!! youll do great:)

You should really work on your kick and make your kicks small and fast and pump your arms like there's no tomorrow and don't focus on the other contestants because then you can't pay attention to winning and doing your personal best, also get a good start and dolphin kick off the wall it really helps i do it all the time and it always helps me. Pretend that there's a shark in the water behind you or that there's something that you want really badly on the other end of the pool! P.S. I'm a swimmer and twelve too

Read or watch some michael phelps bio. He was a geeky little kid growing up and was not exactly a swimming prodigy either. I read his life story and drew motivation from it. If he can be the best swimmer in the world, anyone can be really good as well.

try to get yourself into a rhythm when you are swimming. Make sure you have a good kick, as that is what really keeps you going in the water. Don't kick by bending your knees because you really aren't going to go anywhere, keep your legs straight and point your feet straight back. You want to keep in a streamline position because you will be cutting through the water instead of fighting off its resistance. When you take your strokes with your arms make sure you are really reaching and pulling the water back, keeping your fingers together (another resistance thing). Don't flip your head back and forth (which is a common mistake in beginners) when you breathe, keep your neck in line with your spine and tilt it to the side just until your surfaces for air. So if you can try and get yourself in a rhythm of constantly kicking with good form, taking a couple big strokes, then breathing you should be fine. Lessons will help you refine your technique a lot! Best of luck!

i am a swimmer and i know a lot about swimming so the best tip is hold ur breath for three strokes no less and try to do a flip turn if u do not no what that is ask ur coach i am 10 u also could try to join the swim team because none is hopeless and the more u practice u do the better u will get P.S( the boy swimmers are stronger then football players)
