How can i tone my arms, legs, and stomach?

How do you swim to tone up your legs, stomach, and arms?

  • are there any exercises to do in the pool besides just laps of freestyle/ breaststroke/ backstroke/ butterfly?

  • Answer:

treading water while holding a medicine ball is a good workout. When done for a good period of them, it strengthens your muscles while toning them at the same time. In order to do the drills properly it forces you to concentrate on parts of your body, legs, stomach (abs), and arms to keep the ball up as well as yourself. also flip turns into intense streamlines off the wall with dolphin kick are very helpful as well

A good pool exercise that i like doesn't really have a name. You stick you legs together in the deep end of a pool and move back in forth (the same motions that you do in butterfly) and hold yourself above water for as long as you can. It is harder than it sounds but is great from abs and legs.

You can grab the flutter board (also called kick board) and practice your kicks for all of the strokes. You can also grab a pull-buoy and practice the arm motions for all of these strokes as well. Another option is to try treading water or synchronized swimming.
