How can i keep chlorine in my pool?

  • how can i keep chlorine in my pool.we have shocked it many time chlorine just disappears by the next day.the ph at 7.2 the calcium is at 400 and everything else is fine .pool is very clear.my pool is 15,000 gallons.any advice would be great.lisa

    I'd highly suggest that you take a sample of your water in a clean glass container to a pool supply store for analysis. If you are not able to maintain the chlorine level, it is likely that you need to add cyanuric acid which will stabilize the chlorine. Not being able to keep chlorine in a pool happens during very sunny days and implies that you need to add cyanuric acid. Normally, depending on where you live in the US (Northern needs less, Southern needs more) you to maintain cyanuric acid levels of 20-80 PPM is considered ideal or use what is called stabilized chlorine.
