I dont know what to do between running cross country or doing swimming for high school?
-
ok so i am gonna have to make a horrible decision by the time my junior year of high school. i do cross country during the fall, swimming for winter, and track for spring. heres my problem my swim season (sophmore year right now) has just ended and we have lost almost all of our good people now since their graduating so now we r gonna be struggling when next season (junior year) comes. my coach told me to swim during the off season at SEA (southeastern aquatics) but im busy in the summer and then X country is in the fall so by the time next season starts i will be out of shape pretty much starting over again. so i dont know if i should give up X country and swim SEA during the fall so im in good shape for next year cuz i luv XC cuz me and my buddies on there always have a great time (same with swimming)but i dont wanna suck for next year either what should i do. i do better in swimming than XC also. and no i cant do SEA during spring cuz its not open in that time of year

Answer:
Well i would support the team. I mean the best choice in my opinion would swim in the fall-through winter and run track in the spring. In the spring, swimming is over and you can run with ur buds. YOu can spend the rest of the year training for swimming. If the swim team at your school will strugle, support them. Are you a big asset to your track team? I know at schools there are a lot of runners, and not a whole lot of swimmers. Best of luck!

well im personally faster at swimming than running Xc but you have to plan on one thing for senior year [somwhat] when you get in collagge you have to think of one sport to do if your better at swimming stay there and during spring practice swimming at any public clean pool but you wont get out of shape becuase when you swim you are still using your legs and your arm muscles rather than when you just run its mostly your legs when i started swimming i got faster at running

you have to chose which one you love more. i had to go through the same thing this year (sophomore year). my swim coach wanted me to join the town teem during indoor track season. i ended up chosing to swim since i like it more than running. if you are a huge assest to your track team then support them, but if your swim team is going to struggle next season support them. at some point, you are going to have to chose. i would personally swim during the fall & winter and then run during the spring. running will still keep you in shape and will build your endurance so its not like its hurting you. hope i helped.
