Is Lake Meridian (WA) good for swimming?

  • A friend who lives in Kent has invited me to come swimming in Lake Meridian. I was wondering if it's a nice swimming-type lake? Some lakes in Western Washington are really nasty and have bad bacteria (the kind mom warns you about) that can give you things like Swimmer's Itch. Can anyone tell me anything about the lake itself and how swimmer friendly it is? Thanks!

    Please do not swim anywhere that doesn't have a lifeguard on duty. Northwest weather has been very cool this year. Air temperature is much warmer than the water and you lose body heat more rapidly in water. So whatever the air temp is there expect the lake water to be a lot colder and you could get hypothermia. The best weather for lake swimming would be 85 degrees or more.
