What is the best diving board to get?

If I broke my leg on a slippery diving board, at a public swimming pool, can i sue or get anything from them?

  • I broke my leg doing a normal dive, about 3 years ago, at a public swimming pool. For 3 months I wasn't able to walk. And now I have a muscle hernia right below my right knee.

  • Answer:

Did you go there thinking there would be no risk at all? If you did, that says a lot about your intelligence. Honestly.... dont be a loser. You knew the risks, dont sue just to get "Something" thats wrong! That whole attitude of "Im gonna make them pay" makes me sick.

People like you are today's problem. Sue happy retards trying to take peoples hard earned money because of your own incompitence and stupididy. People get layed off because the company can't pay them because they are trying to pay you. What did you expect at a swiming pool at dry diving board just for you.

Sorry, but the legal test is generally 'Had the pool managers taken all reasonable precautions to prevent an accident?' In this case, it could reasonably be expected that a diving board in use at a swimming pool would be wet, and hence slippery--and therefore all users would be advised to take appropriate care. I would be willing to bet that the pool had/has signs up that say something like 'Customers use the (pool and) diving boards at their own risk' You only have real grounds for litigation if you can prove that the pool management were negligent, e.g. if a staff member spilled a soapy/oily cleaner on the board and then left it there, making it UNEXPECTEDLY more slippery than could be reasonably expected. Frankly, I don't think you have much chance of success, especially since you've let so much time go past since the accident, which makes any suit you might bring much harder to prove. (It's even possible that the pool has changed hands in the meantime, and you would certainly not be able to sue the new management for the sins/omissions of their predecessors).
