Do I need help with ski sizing?

I need help with sizing for a Speedo suit?

• I'm looking for a suit for swim team, and the sizing makes no sense to me. http://www.speedousa.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3616652&view=all&cp=3124324.3128417.11859606.3131376&cid=1062147 this is the one i want ^ but i cant understand the sizing. i tried on a few at a sports store - i'm usually and 8 or so - and i tried a few random styles but only the 12 fit me - barely. I read the size chart and i should be a medium (28/29) but i dont know if it will fit. Help? (I'm also a virgin at competitive swimming, so is there a certain way the suit should fit?) Thanks :)

  Speedo runs a little small, Nike even more so. Competition suits are sized a lot differently than bikinis or leisure swimming suits. If you're looking for a practice suit, a Speedo Endurance would be a good choice. They're made up of polyester and so the color doesn't fade and they won't stretch out or disintegrate. If you're looking for a meet suit, definitely try something that is a little bit tighter. Polyester tends to soak up a little more water than needed which definitely isn't a bad thing for practice (it being practice and everything) but you'll want something a little more streamline for a meet. Try some extra life lycra or if you're REALLY serious into competitive swimming, look up Fastskins or aquablades. They're both by speedo. You should be able to find all of these online (SwimOutlet, Ebay...). Scheels usually carries practice suits, too. I'm also around a size 8 usually and I wear around a 30 for a practice suit. 28 for meets. Depends on the brand....
