Are there swimming lessons for older people?

Should I take swimming lessons despite circumstances?

  • This year I would really like to study hard for any upcoming tests or exams. I am a very hard worker though I would like to focus more especially this year. I would also like to take up swimming lessons, though I am not sure whether this would be a good idea as I worry whether the swimming lessons which I plan to have once a week will disturb or clash with my studying. I used to take lessons though I soon quit, and I would like to give it another go as I would really like to swim like other people who can effortlessly swim lengths or tread water for minutes on end. So will swimming lessons help to blow off some steam and maintain exercise while clearing my mind and help me absorb information or will it bother me and cause me stress (I took some lessons while at school and sometimes dreaded doing some of the exercises like doing rolls in the water).

  • Answer:

There's plenty of time in the day. Competitive swimmers spend up to 20 hours a week training in their high school years. For the most part, they are excellent students. Participating in some extra-curricular activities is good for you. In addition to what you learn at your lesson, you also learn time-management. Good luck
