Need some advice, im taking the bronze medallion course and....?

okay so im taking the bronze medallion course and i havent swam in like three years, so no wim continuing, and we had to swim 25 laps in 15 minutes and i failed that :( i was too slow. and i was literally out of breathe after ONE lap. what can i do?i really hate going to that course now. everyone knows everything about rescue stuff and i know nothing.also im the slowest, and i get SO tired. when im swimming i feel like im going to die. :(

assuming you are swimming freestyle/frontcrawl kick 4 times for every arm stroke breath every three arm strokes do flip turns, this can increase your time by about 4 seconds each 50 yds (or m. i guess) do cardio outside of the pool. running two miles, stairstepping. elipticles. etc
