Swimming pool water?

What can I use to treat the water in my swimming pool?

  • My pool holds aprox. 300 gallons of water. It is to small for a filter and all of the water treatment stuff I can find in the stores is for much bigger pools with filters in them. After about 3 days the water becomes murky and it is getting expensive to keep refilling the pool twice a week. Does anyone have any ideas for me as to what I can use to treat the water in my swimming pool?

  • Answer:

    clorox...about a cup a day..it evaporates

Hi there, I think you still need the chlorine and algeside from the store. I used to own a house with an in-ground pool that held 16,000 gallons of water. What I would do is divide 16,000 by 300 and get 53.34... that is how much bigger my pool was besides yours. Refer to the labels on the products that clearly indicates a certain amount for pools between 15,000 and 18,000 gallons. Take that amount and divided by 53 and that is what you will need for your little pool. I know it sounds crazy and I am no math whiz, but it is possible and it's going to be hard only the first time...Once you figure out the amount then you mark it on a plastic container (cup, etc) and this is it!!! Or you can have a sales person at the store give you advise... Good Luck and let me know if it worked! :)
