What do you wear under a wetsuit?
-
I'm going on a school trip next summer and I know we will be wearing wetsuits. I'm not going to buy a fancy 'under a wetsuit' type of thing since its just for a week. I don't own a bikini (too fat) but I have a 2 piece swimsuit where the top comes down over my stomach. Its kind of bulky though, so I don't want to wear it. But could I wear a sports bra and the bottom of my swimsuit under?

Answer:
I would just wear your bathingsuit under it. It's not like they going see your bathing suit

I see no reason why you shouldn't

Since you only wear the wetsuit for a week, I think it's fine to wear a sport bra (for preventing showing nipples when you get out of water) and the swimsuit bottom (of your two piece swimsuit) under the wetsuit. Hope this helps! Cindy from http://www.curvysea.com

Just get a bikini. That's what I wear and I'm fat too. But nobody is too fat for a bikini. And since you'll be wearing a wetsuit over it why does it matter? Every girl needs to have a bikini.
Pretty much any swimsuit is fine to wear under a wetsuit, so long as it doesn't have (m)any 'lumpy' bits, e.g. decorative beading, large buckles/hoops, or even chunky knots. Underwiring, frills and ruffles should be OK, so long as they lie relatively flat against the skin. The reason for this is that, in order to work properly, a wetsuit must be skintight*. Hard components or rutched material on the swimsuit, especially if located over hipbones or ribs, will be pressed uncomfortably against your skin, leaving red marks or even bruises. This may be especially noticeable if the wetsuit is thick (>4 mm), or if you are also wearing something buckled down over the top of it, e.g. a lifevest, weightbelt and/or scuba gear. If you think your normal swimsuit might be too bulky to wear, you could certainly do as you suggest, but make sure that the sports bra is designed for in-water use, e.g. for aquarobics, otherwise it may chafe when wet. * Wetsuits work by trapping a layer of water against your skin, which then warms up to skin temperature, and is insulated from the external seawater by the neoprene. A loose wetsuit will not do this -- instead you will get a constant stream of cold water flushing through it, so you will get cold very quickly.
