Are there any exercises you can do while in the swimming pool?

I started going to the gym about 6 months ago but haven't been for a couple of weeks, as I’m getting bored with it. I wasn't really seeing any benefits as in weight lose but have felt a lot fitter and more toned (I have been healthy eating too) but I don’t want to just give up completely, as I do need to do some form of exercise so have decided to try out swimming as I’ve heard it's good for a total body workout. My legs and stomach are my main issues but I’m wondering as well as just doing laps are there any other exercises I can do in the pool? Also, is it ok to just do breast stroke? As I must admit I’m not great at swimming any other ways. I did originally want to join a water aerobics class but they only have one class a week and that’s quite late. Thanks for the help

The best thing to do is just swim. It's the best form of exercise you can do. It tone's up all your body and makes ur boobs firm too ha. Best thing would be to start with breast stroke to warm yourself up, then is it front stroke? To get yourself a bit out of breath, then back to breast stroke. There's plenty other things though. Try joining swimming classes. But even being in the swimming pool, keeping urself up, works your muscles!

they usually have shallow water and deep water classes, some are for slower movers and some give a great workout. take some swimming lessons and improve your other strokes. breaststroke is ok, but it works a specific group of muscles and isn't that great for building stamina.

Lots of my friends to water arobics to help lose some weight, and when the final classs is over they always look fantastic. It is a really hard exersice, but very worthwhile.

For your abs do back and freestyle, and make sure to include flip turns. Flip turns are very ab intensive so it will flatten your abs more. Don't just do breaststroke, you need a good balance.

You could try the old pin the tail on the donkey whilst under-water or the old hands inside the trunks, guess who i am games......

-you can swim from side to side of the swimming pool. -try water aerobics its great exercise. -alternative, just swim!!

Try water polo - once you've built up some stamina. Water aerobics is also worth the try.
