Can you practice surfing in a swimming pool?

Swimming alone at a public pool tomorrow?

• We have swimming as a class at my school & we swim at the local, public and competitive pool near our school for class. Its always maintained and is used by our national swim team at times. The problem is its 30 minutes from where I live therefore I can't go there tomorrow to practice my laps for my swimming exam on Tuesday since its too far for my grandfather to drive (my parents are at a business trip & I don't drive). So I was planning to swim tomorrow at a public pool near where I live once it opens so that I won't run into people. Problem is, its the first time I'm swimming alone and my grandparents don't want to accompany me at the pool. Should I be worried? My dilemma is my clothes and bag that I bring to the pool might get stolen somehow or I might get kidnapped or raped (I'm a 15 year old girl). Just saying though. Any advice? Don't say don't go and I know a public pool is gross.

  Make sure youre in a good line of sight of the pool owner or worker. Its apart of their job to keep an eye on everyone and make sure nothing happens. I'm sure you wont fall into any of those situations youve written. You might be just nervous because you're not familiar with the place. Is there anyone who could come with you? Make sure your grandparents are well informed about where you are and just go on doing your business and come home on time. If youre worried about leaving your bag unattended then just leave it with the pool guard behind the counter. xo
