How to Dive from a 5 meter fixed platform.?
-
I can perfectly dive & flip from 1 Meter & 3 Meter springboards, but the 5 meter fixed platform obviously doesn't have any spring, and it looks hard to get into the dive. Is there any techniques for diving from the 5 meter platform and is it much harder than diving from the 3 meter springboard? I have wanted to dive from the 5 Meter platform for a while, but want to be informed about the techniques before attempting it. Thank you -Jake

Answer:
I have dived from all three. The platform makes it a little slower getting the dive started (unless you use a running/walking approach), but the extra height compensates for that. The biggest thing is launching yourself far enough OUT so you don't hit the platform or pool edge during your dive.
