Can you swim in a swimming pool with boardshorts?

If you bring a board, you're golden. Some places even allow boogie boards.

it seems like you should be able to wear them. any pool i know would definitely let you, but i guess hypothetically there could be a really strict pool where you're not allowed. your sister should wear a bathing suit under the boardshorts or bring it with her, just in case. but most likely she'll be allowed to wear them.

of course you can... there isnt a law against it.

People do it all the time.... apparently we old people are not meant to wear "speedos" any more... so a pair of O & E boardies are the go... although you can wear Billabong if you really have to slum it. You should ring the pool to see if they have a particular dress code but I seriously doubt it excludes boardies.

I would think so. I bunch of people who go to my wear board shorts everyday, so i don't see why this pool would be any different.

As a swimmer and a surfer.... Yes! As long as you're covered no one cares. They are long enough to where liners are not really needed. Beware that they may balloon up a bit as they aren't meant for swimming per se. Go for it and have fun.

I don't see why you can't wear them. Even though boardshorts are worn by those that surf, not everyone that has them surfs. I have a pair and I've gone swimming in a pool with them. I really don't see why you couldn't because they still are a type of swim suit. The only concern that may come up is if you've got a pair of boardshorts that don't have a lining on the inside. Ones without a lining may not be allowed.
