Answer:
Your times are good for a sophomore in hs ... actually very good but, not the best. None of your times, at this moment in time, would get you even close to a D1 scholarship. Your 200 IM and 100 back times would get the attention of D2 coaches and MIGHT, depending on the school, get you a 10 to 25% scholarship. Read the following and take a look at D1 and D2 times. Swimming coaches are allowed, by the NCAA, to give out 8.2 TOTAL FULL EQUIVALENT scholarships. So, they give 25% to one swimmer and 50% to another and 33.3% to another ... until the total is 8.2 for the whole team. RARELY does a swimmer get a full ride. A few years ago, I was coaching high school and I had a kid who went 4:26.2 in the 500 free and 49.5 in the 100 fly. I helped to negotiate a 75% scholarship (they originally offered him only 50%) to a D1 school. Consider that for a coach to be interested in you, you'll need to be in the top 200 from the information below: For NCAA times from this or from last season, start by clicking on the following: http://www.usaswimming.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=1402&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en Look to the left side and you'll see NCAA Information Click on NCAA Information and choose the division you want (Division 1,2, or 3) Choose EVENT RANK Date range should be 10-11 for last year and 11-12 for this season Choose the event Choose gender Choose "Cut/Standard", use the drop down menu and choose NS For "Times To Include" ... chose BEST TIME ONLY Then ... Maximum # of results is your choice. The # you choose is up to you (and 7000)
