What are you breastroke times?

1:30 for a 100yrd breastroke?

  • That's the time for the 13-14 100yard breastroke. I'm a 1:33. BTW, this time is for qualifing for another meet that you HAVE to make sertain times to go to 1:30 good? or meh? (i'm 13 and this is my 2nd yr on team)

  • Answer:

For only your second year competitively swimming, I think that's great! No, you won't be going to the Junior Olympics with that time, but hey, you gotta start somewhere, right? Athletes who have not been swimming for very long can make significant improvements in a short amount of time. I think dropping 3 seconds for that cut time is a very distinct possibility. In fact, you could make up a lot of time tweaking your start and turns -- a really smooth, fast turn followed by a good pull-out is essential for a breaststroke race. I imagine that since you're only 2 years in, you could seriously benefit from asking your coach for help on your turns and pull-outs. Good luck!

it's ok. i would set your goal for 1:20 but 1:30 isn't anything great. Won;t get you anywhere as a senior swimmer in USS

HorseReport HGS

its ok but many swimmers who are good do it in a minute or less...but 1:30 is a little slower than average
