How can I get on varsity?

How do i get good at water polo quick? VARSITY? PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER!?

  • how do i get good quick? we have summer tryouts and It's going to be my first year playing polo. im going to be a junior. I really really want to make it TO VARSITY!! soo much :) our tryouts are basically you play against varsity and if your good you make varsity! please help! i have CLUB polo 2 weeks before. can i improve in 2 weeks and get beast and make varsity? should i ask the club coach for tricks? i understand the game

    practice is what makes everything perfect. If you want to be on varsity, you need endurance to swim constantly otherwise, you'll just die in games and won't be able to do anything. Therefore, you should get as much running and swimming as possible. Also, work on your catchings and passes and shots. Buy a water polo ball and train with it outside or at home constantly to get a feel of it. Shoot with it and pass around with a friend while using proper technique you would when in the pool. Use your torso constantly and not arm strength only. You can see proper shot and pass techniques on Youtube. You should also do arm workout (push ups) and leg strength for eggbeater kick to get you high from the water ( which is the main thing that makes your shot great ). Thus, you should do some squats at home to build those muscles. By the way, tricks do nothing and thats not what coaches look for. Hope it helps. Good luck.
