Will the All Blacks win the 2011 Rugby World Cup?

  • Now, new zealand is hosting the rugby world cup in 2011, which is a huge thing for new zealand, but, can our national rugby team win the tournament? if you know of the all blacks, you'll know they are an amazing team, thats full of talent, but they always choke when it comes to the rugby world cup? can they win the 2011 rugby world cup though?

    What is it with Kiwis and this "choking" thing? There have been a total of six World Cups to date. In the latter stages of the tournament it has a knock-out format, which means that anything can happen. The All-Blacks have won once, made it to another final, and made it to the semi-final three times. They have always been knocked out by a quality side. The only period of play that could be questioned was the second half of the semi-final against France in 1999. How does this qualify as "choking". I would call it pretty successful.

New Zealand are a great test side in the world only to be riveled with france when they sack their manager but I can't see new zealand stepping up to the Mark at the world cup. Yes they are at home but this adds more pressure to them and they don't handle pressure very well. They can't depend on dan carter to kick them to a final. They are looked at to be invincible???? But are far from it. They have a sound line out and scrum but can be weak at defending in places and if any team finds it and capitalises on it then they are in trouble. If they discises it they have a final at least on the cards. Hope I was useful :)

They could win the World Cup if they continually play as they played in 2010 with only one loss to Australia because of a little mistake from Stephen Donald. But we will definitely see if they're capable of winning the World Cup when they play against Australia and South Africa, their only major threat, in the 2011 Tri-Nations series. But overall i predict they will win the World Cup because they were on such a role in 2010.

I agree with BLM, just because in the past we have not won, does not mean we have choked. its not like New Zealand is a crap team and gets knocked out in the first round. And as for us winning, well that have the home side advantage so yeh i think we will win:):)

ITS THE RUGBY WORLD CUP I MEAN CMON EVERYONE WILL BRING THEIR A GAME ALTHOUGH NZ HAVE BEEN DOMINATING ALL THE TEST MATCHES LATELY BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THEY WILL WIN IT I MEAN ANY THING CAN HAPPEN BUT THEY HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF GOING INTO THE FINALS BUT YEA GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS BECAUSE TEAMS LIKE ENGLAND , AUSTRALIA AND SOUTH AFRICA WILL BE STANDING IN THEIR WAY SO GOOD LUCK TO THEM TOO

if the all blacks go out and play like they have to prove the world that they're not chokers, they WON'T win the world cup. i think all blacks didn't win the previous world cups because they were more scared of losing than hungry to win.
