What soccer cleats do you wear?

Is it okay to wear soccer cleats in rugby?

  • i play prop....what kind of soccer cleats if any?

  • Answer:

yes, it's legal to wear soccer boots in rugby. However, as a prop, they wouldn't provide you with the grip that you would need. As a prop, you will find that you loose your footing a lot wearing them. You should really look at buying steel tagged boots. Long 22mm steel's (at the heels, 15mm at the toes). Props require a lot of grip in the ground. You will need it.

Other answers

Yes, many players do (including me). You cannot wear baseball cleats, and you cannot have a cleat at the tip of the toe like American football cleats have. Otherwise you're pretty safe.

alright the rest of the aswers are wack....here it is, a ref ANY REF will allow you to play with soccer....dont listen to any1 here i've played 4 years of high school and university rugby and club rugby for years... but the front 3 (props and hooker) need rugby cleats for the grip it will give you, you need the long studs so they can get good grip since your so low and you need to push off the ground on engage...you'll thank me if you ever play on a rainy day also, so yeah the ref wont have a problem, you'll have the problem ow yeah and i play prop/hooker/flank so i should know
