As far as Rugby in the States, I'm only aware of two colleges that offer scholarships. One is Life University in Marietta, GA. and the other is Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. There are a couple D-I universities that offer women full ride scholarships, but those are the only two that I know of in the US, since rugby is not sanctioned by the NCdouble-a$$holes and it isn't a money maker for most colleges, the scholaships aren't offered. USA rugby is working on promoting women's rugby as an NCAA sanctioned sport to help get some universities compliant with Title IX, and is the best headway we have as far as establishing rugby scholaships in the US...but that doesn't help the guys out there. As far as outside the US, I think it is more of a developmental program and you have to work your way through the ranks to get school and the like paid for.

Pat B- thats a great list! The reason that there arent more opportunities for rugby scholarships in the states is because Rugby is a club sport in most universities and not a varsity sport. NCAA does not recognize rugby for men at this time as an organized sport. However, there are currently 4 universities that NCAA recognizes rugby as an emerging sport. They started with the women's side to generate interest and because there is more money available to womens sports due to an equal representation of women in sports law. Theres a ton of info on the usa rugby site about this topic if interested.

Not in America. It is not a varsity sport in the NCAA, therefore there are not scholarships available for playing rugby. YOu can, however, still play at the collegiate level, but the teams are not able to give scholarships.

May be America, as England and other European countries like Wales, Ireland, France etc... don't need good players cuz they have massive numbers of new talents. But even in America they would need you to be smart.

Is this America or England or elsewhere? A sports college will take you in if you're good enough. Most regular schools/colleges won't offer you a scholarship just for being decent at rugby.
