Where can I find income and demographics?

USA Rugby demographics/statistics?

  • So I'm doing a project for Marketing/DECA where I am a third party hired by a sports drink company looking for a sport for the drink to partner with. It was supposed to be a lesser appreciated sport, so I chose US rugby. Sadly, I'm trying to find graphs (or the information so I can make graphs) regarding things like demographics(fans and athletes): Age range, gender, income, education, do the fans participate in any sports...ect. And other things like " how much is USA rugby growing every year"? Any useful information that I can use to convince my customer of why they should partner with USA rugby.

    www.usarugby.org. Much of the information you want will probably be available directly from their web site. They also will have contacts to whom you can pose follow-up comments. I would be stunned if they do not have, and would be pleased to share, the sorts of statistics (maybe already graphed, for proper attribution) you are looking for. They are the national rugby union in USA, and it's very doubtful anybody else has better stats. Mark L.

Rugby is a growing sport in the USA. I am surprised it hasn't grown faster. Back in 1968 a team from one of your State Unis toured England. They were great. We were expecting them to be wearing silk shorts and gaudy shirts. It was quite a shock when they turned up looking more English than we did! They were great guys! They knew more verses of our dirty drunken songs than we did! And they could drink at least as much as we did! They were much fitter than we were - we only won because we realised that if we played clean, we would lose. So we had to resort to naughties. Even so, we only JUST won!
