What's your favorite soccer position and why?

What is the easiest position in rugby?

  • So I'm going into grade 12(yusss) but for the last 3 years I haven't played rugby, however this year I really want to try it. I also play soccer and hockey, and am trying to expand my horizons to try and be able to get into a sport into University. So I'm pretty athletic. But I don't really want to throw the ball a whole lot- what I'd really really like to do is just kill people... I would love to tackle people alot. So in short--- whats the easiest position in rugby? Thanks!

  • Answer:

English Winger. They never have to touch the ball because the whole game revloves around the forwards and flyhalfs for the boring unimaginative poms

All of the positions in Rugby take different skill sets and player sizes, so there is no "easy position". I would recommend watching a rugby game and then determine what skill set you would want to develop. You could also just go out for the sport and let a coach who knows the sport decide for you (recommended).

Wing = easiest. If you wanna tackle alot... Probably flanker.

A slightly reclining position in front of the television with a good beer.

The easiest position in rugby is Wing. The hardest part of your game there is positioning, which is easily learnt by asking a senior wing. Tackling is simple there because there is only one way for your opposition to go (away from the sideline). Technically, they could try and go through you, but if you miss that tackle, you shouldn't be playing rugby anyway. You only receive passes from one direction and you don't get messed up by the forwards or stuck in rucks (usually). When on attack, you have all options available to you because you usually have room to move. Now, as an aside, to all of you people who think prop is easy, try it. There have been 28 fatalities in rugby games since 2000 and all but one have been props with broken necks, the other was a hooker who got stuck at the bottom of a ruck on a wet pitch and drowned. In a scrum, you have 1600kg (approx.) all resting on four players necks. The players have to be the biggest players but still have to keep up with flankers or else the ball will be turned over. Everyone with the opinion that props are slow fat and lazy should actually watch a rugby game and watch numbers 1 and 3 and see how much work props actually do.

If you just want to tackle people, Number 7 does the most tackling. The best part is you can run at there number 10 all day who is typically a small player. You have to be pretty fit though. Number 8 and 6 also a lot of tackling but not as much as 7. If you really want to smash someone number 13 (centre) can be a fun position but you have to pass a lot

The easiest position. A sideline critic, it takes no skill.

I have heard the hooker is pretty easy.

A good position for someone who wants to tackle a lot but likes to tackle people, flanker (6and7), eightsman (8) or outside centre (13) would be your best option.
