Who To Pick For Nhl Draft?

If the Edmonton Oilers have the 1st overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, who should they pick and why?

  • In my opinion, it comes down to either Adam Larsson, Sean Couturier, or Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. 1. Can Larsson make an impact right away? What about his ability to contribute offensively? 2. Who will be a more dynamic scorer: Couturier or RNH? Do the Oilers need a centre or defenceman more badly? 3. Maybe the Oilers can trade away Hemsky and trade up at the draft to get a shot at Murphy, Huberdeau, or Hamilton?

    Why would they trade Hemsky? I think that Couturier will be a better scorer. Nugent-Hopkins is okay, but besides the fact that I think Couturier is the better prospect, he also has much more muscle and strength than Nugent-Hopkins. I'm pretty sure Nugent-Hopkins is only 160 lbs. The Oilers need a defenseman more though. I think they should pick Larsson, because as far as I know, they don't have any good defensive prospects, and their only really good D-man is Whitney. Souray is good too, but I think his career is coming to an end, and the Oilers don't like him. If they have the 1st overall pick, they should pick Larsson. If the lottery moves them down to second, then they should pick Couturier
