Which player was popular as the Wizard of field hockey?

I would like to play J.V. field hockey next year in high school?

• I want to try out for field hockey and AT LEAST make the J.V. team. I have never played field hockey, but I've played street hockey a couple of times before. I'm not very athletic, but I'm a good defensive player in most sports, and I've already started to get better at running after training for a while. What I'm asking is this: what are the basics (in easy-to-understand words, please) of field hockey, and what should I do over the summer to get ready and become prepared for tryouts? Also, what are some good tips for beginner field hockey players, and do I have any chance of making it onto J.V.?? thanks :)

  If you're coachable, athletic, and show improvement throughout the 3-5 days of try outs, you should make it. If you don't have a stick yet, get one. Since you're a beginner, I would suggest a Brine or STX composite. If you can attend any camps or preseason, definitely go. Also, just pass with friends and work on push passes, hits, and clips.
