Lacrosse goalie gloves for hockey?
-
Is the difference between lacrosse and hockey gloves simply mobility and wrist protection? I was hoping to buy some lacrosse gloves to play in a "no checking" men's hockey league and was considering lacrosse goalie gloves because they supposedly have more thumb protection like that of a normal hockey glove. Can someone clarify?

Answer:
the main difference is that your secondary hand doesn't have a net in it. which is instrumental in blocking shots to your off hand side. so i don't think it's a good idea to use lacrosse gloves for hockey, at least not for goalie. other than that they're pretty much the same besides thumb mobility. but honestly, when do you ever need to move your thumbs around a lot?
