"It's been a lot of fun," said Stricker, "It's a lot of fun getting in contention like that, and it's even more fun when you can pull it off like I did today." The Deutsche Bank Championship is a PGA Tour golf tournament that occurs every year on Labor Day weekend. The tournament began in 2003 and is held at the Tournament Players Club of Boston in Norton, Massachusetts. The title sponsor, Deutsche Bank, has announced it will sponsor this event in Boston through 2010. Unlike most tournaments, this tournament is intended to end on a Monday due to its scheduling near Labor Day. The purse for 2009 is $7,500,000, with $1,350,000 to the winner. The tournament is part of the FedEx Cup playoffs beginning in 2007. The Deutsche Bank Championship is one of the newer tournaments on the PGA Tour, first being played in 2003. It is the second tournament in the FedEx Cup "playoffs." This event is the only one on the PGA Tour with a scheduled Monday finish (Labor Day weekend).
